Is there no gEDA included in Kubuntu?

Are you sure that your compiler works fine -- have you successfully
compiled other software.

To get support from the developers it may be good to say which compiler
version you are using. (gcc version 4.1.2 build gEDA 1.4.3 for
Gentoo-Linux on AMD64 fine.)
