What you do is remove the GND net, pour the copper, then use the
thermal tool to connect the GND pins to the pour.

In my case, I leave the GND net, but use the 'j' key to join each
segment to the pour, when the pour isn't going to be a majority of the
board (like when I have gnd and vcc on the same side).  See
