It's actually a non-modal dialog, DJ changed my snarky quote.
If it were modal, you wouldn't be able to drive the main window
without closing it.

On the other hand, I've found that PCB will crash if you do any
real editing during the DRC.  I haven't tried to fix it because
batch operation would avoid it altogether.

That's one thing I would really like to do.  I'd also like to see the
number of issues reported for a single interaction (eg between two
copper traces) reduced.  One mistake on a board might get repeated 3 or 4
times, and none of the errors are particularly clear.

Oh yeah, and the whole set of DRC checks should be reevaluated.  :)
