I got the same error.  All of the normal 'log' output seems to go to the
console I launch pcb from.  

My layouts are very simple, usually can be contained in 1 or at most 2
layers, and I've found that with autoroute, I end up with many vias
(something I try to avoid, as I don't send my boards out to fab, I do them
myself).

Basically the changes I see going from PCB 1.99j to 1.99n are the failure on
the log window and newer part libraries.

Of course, we're all running unreleased code ;)

Further testing has found that the above dies when the log window is
selected with
the error:-
X Error of failed request:  BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)

  Current serial number in output stream:  2616

This seems to be the only problem so far.
