Yup. I think exporting PCB files to other formats is pretty easy
(anyone want to write a DXF exporter for the new HID system? ;) but
finding something to *do* with those formats is harder under *nix.
OTOH, a pcb to quake converter would be interesting. I often render
woodworking designs as quake maps so I can walk around them and view
them in various settings.
I think the tricky part would be getting the mask and silk layers to
form against the copper/fr4, rather than being a flat sheet just above
it.
Another option is a GUI HID that uses OpenGL to render the board. It
would be OK to be view-only, but it would be cool to still have the
show/hide layer, zoom, and mark features.
