FWIW, a gsymcheck-accepted symbol for a Xilinx Spartan-3 XC3S1500-4FG456 part 
(456-pin BGA) fits reasonably nicely inside an A0 titleblock.  Printing to A3 
results in schematics that seem about the right scale to work with.  And are 
1/8 of the scale gschem thinks they should be. :D
