Looks like that's what i meant, not noticing that there's no acceleration in 
top-level menus.

Right, that would be the case.
I just wonder: if one changed the acceleration letters between translation, 
say from Ne_w to Ne_u (going from english to german), would it still work? Or 
has the accelerated letter to stay the same?
