Motif is, as well as Xaw, X11 Toolkit based, but as a comercial product lots of people prefer something free.

Lesstif.

Motif is now open. http://www.opengroup.org/openmotif/

Semi-open. The licence does not fully comply with OSI requirements. See the
Openmotif FAQ which is very clear on this point.

This can be a showstopper for some distributions. In particular, it is not open
on Windows and OSX platforms.

... or Solaris or HP/UX. It's only open on open-source operating systems. Or that is how I read it. I would say that's pretty fatal. -- Steve Williams "The woods are lovely, dark and deep. steve at icarus.com But I have promises to keep, http://www.icarus.com and lines to code before I sleep, http://www.picturel.com And lines to code before I sleep."
