Do any of the other GTK based apps you've built produce that error?
XRANDR is an extension to querying the resolution and rotation of
displays, dynamically configuring them at runtime etc.., and could
conceivability be queried by a toolkit like GTK to figure out what the
screen size / configuration looks like.
Does it fail at this point?
If not, the error is harmless and can be ignored. Even if so.. it may
not be the missing RANDR extension which is causing the failure.
