I agree with DJ.
These languages are all toolkits. When you have a toolkit, you
get to decide what tools to use. One fundamental concept of
C++ is "what you don't use, you don't pay for".
Historically, there have been parts of C++ that not all
compilers implemented, leading to perceived portability
problems. That's not really a problem any more, but even if it
was, just avoid those features.
