Why do you think gnucap wouldn't work when I did the same thing modularly, but when it was in the script it would work?

So there really is no data to display or did you just not pull the
available data in the drawing areas? There should be two windows, one
which shows buttons labeled v(center), v(in) and v(out) which you'd have
to pull into the black area of the other window to display the graph.

What does

$ head tempfile.out

say after you close down gwave? What's the output of the simulation?
