Tin whiskers are a massive problem in my line of work and we spend an awful lot of
time and money investigating its causes and developing mitigation strategies. We 
are looking to get 25+ years from our devices so it is something that has to be actively
addressed. For now it seems we are not able to use 100% Matte Tin. 

If you need any information on it then let me know and I can do some digging to get
the latest spin.
