gEDA-user: OT: Thyristor based DC-machine drives
Hi...
This is rather OT, I know (ok - we used gschem to draw the panel
schematics), but does anyone here have familiarity with thyristor based
DC-machine drives?
I and a college just installed one at the lab, and whilst it works fine,
it causes the DC-machine to emit the most horrible buzzing sound (due to
the switching of the drive), even when the DC-drive is energised, but
commanded to zero speed (and thus zero armature current whilst
stationary).
Does anyone know of any tricks to reduce the acoustic noise?
