I thought I had all that installed, but when I got it from the cd, 
dependency hell started & when after adding 3 other packages to the 
install list, it wanted xorg.6.7.0, when I have a locally built 6.8.1 
here, I finally gave it the --nodeps option.

Then I restarted the installer, and since much of it was already done, 
it only took about half an hour.

Thanks for the hint, now to go see if this elderly CET can figure out 
howto do usefull work with it.  I have to redesign a stepper motor 
driver thats not working very well.
