No, I said to load newer files you'll need a newer version of pcb.
Snapshots aren't the only versions of pcb; there is CVS too, and HID.
Your problem is most likely that you're seeing the new DRC parameters,
which are *not* in 20050609, but in CVS.  20050609 should have DRC
lines like this:

DRC[699 400 800 800]

But newer PCB's have DRC lines like this:

DRC[699 400 800 800 600 750]

So while 20050609 is the most recent snapshot, it is NOT the latest
version of PCB, and there may be files for which 20050609 is too old
to read.  However, you shouldn't be able to create those types of
files with 20050609.
