There were some odd bugs back in that version. The latest version of PCB
(20080202) has many of these fixed.

If you compile 20080202 from source, you'll also want to patch in
Tomaz's fix for a misbehaving cross-hair bug which crept into the last
release though. (Look on this list, or PCB's sourceforge page for the
patch).
