I think pinseq is not really needed, if I remember correctly DJ's
djboxsym does not write a pinseq. pinseq may be needed for spice
simulation tools.

And I think most people use tragesym, djboxsym or similar tools to
create new symbols, or just modify existing ones. Doing all with gschem
is too much work.

Indeed there are tools to preprocess symbols, see the tools of Werner
Hoch at www.gedasymbols.org.
