There are a bunch of Gerber files generated by the layout program, one
for each layer, or manufacturing step of the board. When you ship the
design to the PCB mfr, you typically zip up all the Gerber files and
send them the zip file.
I suggest you try a search on "gerber tutorial" on Google to better
inform yourself about the PCB design process. There's a lot of
material explaining the design flow out there on the web.
