Is that snippet you posted one which triggers the error? I pasted that
(along with a header: "v 20100214 2", into a .sch file, opened in
gattrib, saved... no errors.
What exact version of gattrib and gEDA are you using. Where did it come
from (distro / build from source etc..)?
What is the result of:
which gattrib
and:
ldd `which gschem`
ldd `which gattrib`
Run at the command prompt?
