Re: gEDA-user: install fails--RH7.1 on AMD i686

Got past that. Seems to be my choice of install dir /opt/geda
conflicted with some setting to /home/john/geda that I made trying it
by the one compile at a time method. It compiled all installed to /opt/geda.

Now I need to find out how to use a gschemrc file....

[root@carbide gEDA]# find / -name '*gschemrc*'
/usr/local/src/gEDA/geda-gnetlist-20010722/examples/vams/gschemrc
/usr/local/src/gEDA/geda-gnetlist-20010722/examples/vams/gschemrc.orig
/usr/local/src/gEDA/geda-gschem-20010722/lib/system-gschemrc.in
/usr/local/src/gEDA/geda-gschem-20010722/lib/system-gschemrc
/opt/geda/share/gEDA/system-gschemrc

This last place is not on my path, so can't find it I suppose...

from the above files, the .in file has lots of detail, and the one .orig is
smaller....and system-gschemrc is like .in file...

I'll try putting a copy of system-gschemrc in opt/geda and see:
[root@carbide geda]# gschem
gEDA/gschem version 20010722
gEDA/gschem comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; see COPYING for more details.

Could not find a gschemrc file

What next?
