Here are some comparisons to think about small icons with.
They need low detail and punch, or they are just static eye candy
for the newbie mostly.

This one shows how the effort put into a literal iconify of gschem, pcb and a pencil
is a blur compared to the distilled down essence in the sketches on the right side of the compares.

I like the morphing capacitor the best. It is viewable with meaning from a
"high altitude", meaning with a resolution of your desktop set high, and icons small, say 1 cm tall on screen.

When I did chip design with Cadence tools, the way to get schematic or layout work done,
was to stay at high altitude as much as you could, and avoid noodling the ends of a simple line segment
in favor of moving groups of them, or finding sections to define that you could replicate to be productive.

In other words, small icons, large views of work areas, multiple view of work in progress.

That triggers a question that goes in a separate email! how possible is opening multiple windows on the same schematic
and copying from one to the other? PCB?
