gEDA-user: A bleat for SuSE CDs
Hi Guys --
Since SuSE has turned out to cause such a problem for the gEDA Suite
Install CD, I have decided to take one of my spare machines and load
it up with SuSE 9.3 to create a test platform for this and future
versions of the gEDA CD.
I am trying to download SuSE 9.3 from the Novell site, but it is very
slow going and I am not sure I will get a complete, flawless download
as quickly as I would like. [1] Also, I would like to get a copy of
exactly the same distro which seems to fail for people. (I assume
it's the free download version from the website, but perhaps the
corporate users are using a "physical media" edition?)
Therefore, I would very much appreciate it if somebody reading this
list could send me a spare SuSE 9.3 install CD set. Ideally, it
should be the same install set as was used when creating a system
on which the gEDA CD fails. Perhaps one of the corporate users
has some duplicate disks laying around? I probably won't return the
CD (unless you are located close to me), so don't send me any disks
you need. Also, if you do mail me disks, I won't reimburse you --
please consider it a "donation" to the cause. Mailing CDs is cheap
anyway, and supporting free software is worth a couple of bucks,
right? :-)
Finally, I probably won't get around to doing the testing for a couple
of weeks due to more pressing activities, but I will certainly get to
it within the month. Therefore, please don't expect instant results.
If you're still game to donate a SuSE CD set to "the cause" even under
these conditions, please e-mail me at
sdb (__AT__) cloud9 (__DOT__) net
and I will supply you with my mailing addr. Thank you in advance for
your support and kindness, and thanks for helping out with gEDA!!!

[1] I am doing the d/l at my day job, and our Internet link can be
very slow. Also, I suspect that Novell has the connection on their
end throttled back so that it's not too easy to get a free CD.
