Re: gEDA-user: FC4 installation information



It looks like you did a "cp /mnt/cdrom/* ~/Desktop/geda", or something
like that, and then tried running the local copy.  The problem is that
the installer can't find the Glade files, probably because you didn't
copy the entire directory hierarchy present in the .iso.

Better is to d/l the entire CD onto disk and then burn it onto a
physical CD, and then mount it in the normal way.  (If you know what
you are doing, you can d/l the .iso and then mount the .iso file, but
if your a newbie this might be too complicated.) 

Run the installer this way:

From your home directory:

/mnt/cdrom/installer --log

(Or whever you have mounted the cdrom.)  This will dump a logfile
called Install.log into the local dir.
