KiCad (last time I looked a long while ago) use a very specific sub-set
of VRML exported from Wings3D for their models.
Whilst that isn't as general as a full VRML importer, it might be nice
to be compatible with other OSS CAD tools and their models.
This would help if indeed people wanted to make converters to / from
KiCad, so 3D models could be preserved.
