gEDA-user: Moving components around the layout

in order to place 100 tabs on the board which requires a single hole in
2 lines of 50 each. I drew a line horizontally and then used the line as
guide for vertical position, for the horizontal position I kept on
adding the distance for each tab. Then I discovered that the vertical
position was not very accurate. Here came the idea to zoom in and try to
move the tab that was a bit off in the correct position. I placed the
arrow over he tab central point which is the pin and try to pick it and
move that small amount or even a large amount and then bring it back to
the correct position, when try to move it only show a little square and
the string attached to the part, then I found that if I keep on try long
enough some time I was able to move.

no just the string showing attached to the part that disappears as the
button is released
