Hello,
I work as a web developer and I use GFTP almost everyday and I like it.
But I miss a couple of features:
- get a diff between local and a remote files
- moving in parallel through local and remote trees that have the same structure

ok, I got the synchronous browsing part working

see my screenshot:

http://bbs.dartmouth.edu/~fangq/blog/upload/gftp_sync_browsing.png

the toggle button at the bottom starts sync browsing mode,
which tries to match the folder name from the left/right
panels. When no match is found, it only navigate one
side of the panel (note ".." is used as a folder name
in the match).

to see the changes to the code, please browse the following link:
https://orbit.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/plugins/scmsvn/viewcvs.php?root=gftp&rev=1023&view=rev

you may also notice the additional tool buttons for show/hide
hidden files, and forward/back in browsing history.

please test it and let me know if it works for you.

(the svn announcement is at
http://archives.seul.org/gftp/users/Mar-2010/msg00004.html )

cheers
