Okay Jeff, maybe you can forward this to the kidsgames mailing list (I'm Dutch, so feel free to correct the grammer). Hi folks, on 12 Nov 1999 I wrote a bit on educational games on Linux and said that I was sure we could do better. After this I wrote Math Literature and Skill Literature (and some other non-educational programs for Linux), but the problem I discussed before still remains. Most educational games that can be found on the web are just funny, not informative and most Linux developers just don't know what good educational games should be like (even though they can look at some programs for Windows). When I say the "whole concept" could be much "easier" and "better", this is what I mean: there are very much people who'd like to code something nice for Linux. And there are parents and teachers who have ideas for educational software/games on Linux. What someone should do (very simplified) is make a page where particularly parents can ask developers to make the educati!
!
onal programs/games they want to see for Linux. Here http://www.slip.net/~brk/linuxedpp.htm you can see what I mean. But since schools seem to have barely any Linux (or open source) related needs, make a page just like this one... but for parents. After that - this is almost as important - make sure parents (and Linux developers) know this page exits.

Greetings,

Norbert de Jonge
