Scripts to generate stat graphs?

I was wondering if the rrdtools (and perl/whatever) scripts that generate
the stats graphs on: http://images.noreply.org are available for hacking?

I'd like to get some finer grained stats for my node and I think I've
figured out how to extract the data I need from the directory file, but
it would save me some time if I could look at those scripts since someone's
already written the parser.

Maybe the author would put them in the contrib folder of current?

PS On a side note, it seems all stats get reset to zero when I restart
tor after a cvs update build.

Is this expected behavior?
