I don't know if this is helpful or not, but that finally stopped
working for me with the 2.3.25-8 release of TBB.  I had to delete the
previous copy and start over, which wasn't a big deal but was somewhat
unexpected.

I was able to overwrite older versions of the TBB on my machine
(64-bit Linux) six or seven times before the start-over.  So, it may
be related to this release, or it might just be accumulated cruft
finally taking over.
