[pygame] Pygame 1.0

6 months later, pygame-1.0 is on the shelves.

i'll pull the news blurb from the pygame news at the bottom of
this letter. i'm going to wait until tomorrow before spamming
news about this all over the net. (hoping to see some rpm's)

soon i hope to get a pygame projects page going (a little more
official than the little screenshot section). there's several
little titles in development (one already released :]) and i
know of a level/tile editor done in pygame.

there are also some plans for a pygame code repository, so
people can share and use handy little classes/algorithms/examples
they've come up with.

this is one awesome release, and even being a little nervous
about the 1.0 release (hey, i want everything to be perfect)
this is everything i wanted it to be when i started the project.

After 6 months of development, I'm proud to release pygame 1.0. This release is everything i wanted it to be when i started. For
those that have been following along, there have been some enhancements since the previous 0.9 release. Mainly this is it,
. surfarray module is 100%, plus a tutorial and demo
. exit cleanups for various modules
. many small bugfixes and enhancements
. cleaner code for different platforms
For those new to the package, take a look around the site. Pygame now has everything you need for developing games in python. It's
not just a binding to the SDL libraries, but it has been transformed a bit to work in a clean python manner.

The download page has everything you need to get started.
