 Not performance, because python 3.x is currently performing a bit slower than 2.x. Guido Van Rossum is correcting all the "mistakes" or "incoherences" in Python (like some statements now being functions, allowing them to be called in new circumstances) and, quoting him: " you’ll find that Python really hasn’t changed all that much – by and large, we’re mostly fixing well-known annoyances and warts, and removing a lot of old cruft."
