Whilst everything depends on slots available/allocated ...

With that caveat in mind, please consider putting it in as a proposal for 
Kamaelia (BBC Research mentor org) as well. Useful webcam bindings in
python would be as useful for us as anyone else (linux is a primary platform
for me, but would prefer linux, mac os x and windows).

As context, if this existed, it would make it rather trivial to make a video 
conferencing tool in Kamaelia, so I've added that as a project idea on our 
GSOC page, linking back to the pygame GSOC page. (there's all sorts of other 
possibilities, but this is probably the simplest)

I'd personally be more than happy for this to be mainly focussed on 
integration into pygame because we've got a clear and simple means of 
integrating pygame into Kamaelia. I'd have to see what others think though.

If it does go ahead though it'd be useful for Luke to have support from the
pygame dev team since clearly that's not us :)
