My 2 cents:
the only interest I saw in 1.5 compatability was that the default python 
version on a lot of Linux distros was 1.5 Now that, as far as I know 
any recent Linux distribution ships with Python>2.0, I don't really see 
the point anymore.
1.5.2 compatability is still critical for some production stuff but I 
don't think you'd play games on a box running that kind of software...

just wondering, do you plan to add more high-level stuff to pygame later 
on ? I think there were some talk going on about it lately...
