Re: [school-discuss] CAL Computer Assisted Learning

Hi Marc,

The most simple ways for configuring/updating of CentOS (or any other
RHEL-like system) -- using of standard kickstart mechanics for setting
up of configuration for installer and local software repositories for
packages. In our NauLinux distributions for Russian schools based on
Scientific Linux (another CentOS compatible RHEL-like distro) we used
specialized configuration tools for automagically setup of different
school IT infrastructure resources (for example, web-portal, education
systems and file systems shares) accordingly organization structure
and disciplines set for this concrete school and system for fast
multicast deployment preconfigured system on all computers in class.

Of course, also you may use more complex and universal solutions like
Cobbler, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, etc.

Best wishes,
--Oleg
