Do you need LPRng or CUPS? Is there anything wrong with bog-standard LPR? And 
speaking of LPRng:

Alternatively, just use the generic LPR package with TINY, install APSfilter, 
and edit /etc/hosts.lpd to allow machines to print. Make sure port 515 is 
open (print spooler port), and it should all work. :-)
