What do you mean by easily installable. Unfortunatly, on due to the diversity of GNU/Linux, it is practicaly impossible to create binary packages that can be installed on any GNU/Linux distro out there.
Definitely so.
Creating a CD full of rpm .deb of .tgz files is good but don't expect itAs to that, take a look at <http://www.seul.org/edu/Phase3.html> and <http://www.seul.org/edu/Phase4.html>. We (at least, I) hope to use something like Synaptic to provide an easy installation method.
to make inroads in schools. Just too hard to install.
This way, any user can use our free software educational stuff without
even installing GNU/Linux !!
But we _want_ them to install Linux!
Now the CD is ready, we are working on a little paper book that will go

Most important, we are still looking for having founds to burn large

Based on the information I have, there is at least 300 schools in franceWe're not including AbulEdu, SLIS, kmLinux, L12LTSP, or any of the other scholastic distros in our CD, both because they're all quite large and because we hope our CD might be useful to them all as a possible add-on to their distros. If we package it correctly, it's possible Mandrake, RedHat, SuSE, and others can use it as the basis for education-oriented versions of their distros (with their own installers, of course).
using the abuledu french Linux distribution for schools. Of course
gcompris is part of abuledu ;)
