i guess you took me wrong.

companies like lindows make me crazy.

it is a pretty cheesy product from all the evidence we have seen here.  but if 
they say they can do something, the average customer accepts their word, even 
if you can demo, and they can't.

and if someone tries them because they have the big backing -
customer ---> "how can you go wrong with wal-mart/microsoft/ibm/you name it/ 
..."
you get to share the blame later, even if you sounded a warning horn early on.

as for a solution to that -

i'm at a loss, and it makes me a little crazy.

the only satisfaction, a cold comfort, is you can say "well, now you have your 
answer ...
