Re: [school-discuss] Open Source CD distribution

I'm not sure if this has been covered yet, but NCOSE has worked on resources specifically for getting FLOSS information into peoples hands at conferences.  Bryant chimed in this thread, and so I would wonder if there is something that would provide a collaboration point that folks could use at multiple conferences.  I liked the idea of a little booklet that could be handed out, with options such as downloading an iso image of the collection or providing the opportunity to check out and install the software ala carte.

If there is effort into providing a cd, it could possibly also be something where a booklet is provided, but if someone wants the cd we use that as an opportunity to ask them to join the discuss list in exchange (at least give it a try)..  We obviously aren't asking them for $$, so I think it's entirely fair and would benefit us to ask for invite participation for the service of the cd's.

Also it could be a spin off project, a 'conference advocate kit'  Where groups that would like to promote FLOSS in education could have a pre-packaged option that they could order up (scenario, they request 400 booklets, 200 cds, stickers, etc that they could hand out to folks they have the chance to chat with.
