XDM setup.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Ok. I have XDM setup to do the following:
Restart XDM to reload resources.
Stop/disable the Xserver to drop the user to a console.
Change to runlevel 1 for admin.
Reboot the system
Shutdown/halt the system.
All this is done via keybindings so they can only be performed from the local
console.
I'm considering adding functionality to this, like change to any runlevel and
bring up/drop the ppp connection.
This is all done at the XDM login screen, no actual login needed.
Comments?
If you would like to try my XDM setup let me know and I'll package it. I
haven't done so yet since I don't know where to place the files on a
non-debian system. So if you want to try it I'll simply tar it with a readme
explaining what to do.
If one of you thinks you can handle converting from Debian to RH I'll make a
deb pkg and post it. Conversion will involve the changes in file placement
since RH does there own thing in the etc tree.
