Obsidian--possibly useful for 3D Logo?

I just noticed this on SAL:

It's "An open source 3D virtual world for Linux and OpenGL."  I don't
know anything about 3D programming, but might this be useful for
Miguel's 3D Logo project?  And how's that going, anyway?  Of course, the
holiday season tends to slow pretty much all development efforts.
