Re: [seul-edu] Schoolforge initial public announcement
Hi Doug,
Eric and I are getting closer to a new release of K12LTSP and K12LINUX.
We will have updated our site with new tutorials and install
instructions at the same time. Most of this should be done over the
X-mas break.
My goal is to have 4 directions a school can take from our site:
1. Download and install K12LTSP - with tutorials and sample configurations
2. Download and install K12Linux (stand alone workstation) with sample
configurations.
3. Cookbooks for school server services (web, samba, mail, etc...) using
Red Hat 7.2 with tutorials and sample configurations. Our on-line
administration tutorial will be part of this section.
4. Adding / developing software packages -- We won't go there at all
except to link other schoolforge project and provide a few examples of
how schools could go there and install some of the software.
I have no idea how we're going to do all of this in two weeks but that's
our goal anyway. It would be great to time the release of the next
K12LTSP with SchoolForge. Let's keep tracking and see how it goes.
;-) Paul
