Wil,
I don't have any objections but just want to point out that I would view the
leaders not necessarily as developers but as customers meaning that if someone
wants a particular project developed that person should put their name on it
because that person is the one who has the final say. That person is the one
who knows what they want and whether or not the product is acceptable. In such
a case all that is expected from the person is to make the final decisions.
The person would start out with the project discussion phase saying I would
like such and such. From the following group discussion, the person would pick
out what they want and the project would move on to the definition phase where
the project would be defined to the point where a programmer or programmers
could pick it up and code it. Ultimately it will be up to the customer to
accept the code or to ask for changes. I've had the feeling that people have
been unwilling to accept the role of leader because the person felt
uncomfortable as a developer. Hopefully viewing the leader as a customer will
change this.
