Re: [seul-edu] [OT? Tech stuff] NIS and Windows 2k/XP

Contact Cedarlug, the Cedar Valley Linux Users Group for help, they are
a great LUG and very helpful.

The current Admin for the U of Northern Iowa College of Natural Sciences
has this all set up and is a member of the LUG. This includes single
sign on via LDAP for UNIX/Linux/Windows/Appletalk clients.

The hardest part used to be getting a the Unix password change to update
the Samba password which had a seperate password file needed for
encrypted logins to Samba. I haven't looked at Samba for a while so
maybe it's easy now. I dunno about Apple Mac servers, but Mac clients
work just fine using UNIX/Linux servers and netatalk.
