I think I agree. Another problem with a curses-based install for users is
that if the system you are installing is going to default to X (which, for
an easy-to-use system it surely must), the installer doesn't look much
like the system you are installing. How important in useability terms this
is I don't know, but I would think it may have some psychological effect
also - I would feel more like the installation was going well if I could
see the software running in the form I wanted it to run before the
installer left me to fend for myself. Of course, as an experienced user I
know that under the hood there is absolutely no difference, but there's
still that well being there, I think.
