RE: [gftp] Cannot view files in Website

I would experiment with the PASV/Passive options in ftp's File->Options menu
on the ftp tab.

Also: Check/Temporarily-turn off any firewall/selinux settings you may have
on the client machine. Some forms of ftp (not all) require the server to be
able to connect to _you_ and if that's the case, the firewall may be
preventing the connection. The fix may be to open up incoming ports > 1023
so the connection can be made.

Don't hold me to any of this. I'm not an ftp/gftp expert, but these are
things to try anyway.

Subject: [gftp] Cannot view files in Website

I have 4 websited at 3 different ISPs. I can upload files to the websites
provided by Tesco.net and Beeb.net, but I cannot do anything with those
provided by Freseerve (now Orange). All these websites were created in
Windows98SE using Ipswich and they are all accessible by Ipswich.

If it is of any help I am pasting below a copy of the log. I can see that
GFTP has made the connection, but nothing appears in the right-hand window
and no new files can be uploaded.

If I have to keep maintaining these websites in Windows, I will do so, but I

am curious as to why I cannot access them with gFTP.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Alex
