Re: gEDA-user: gEDA gets some great press!

Actually I wasn't... If the damn tool had run on windows 98 or windows xp or windows nt 4.0 or windows 2000 I would have loaded it on a new machine.... but it didn't (and I tried them all.. and i went and researched the lisencing software and its bug issues so I know what I am talking about.) So my experience didn't match yours. And I am punishing Altera by using xilinx.

Bad support being a damn good way of getting rid of customers.

As for user support....I say.... I had a recent...ok last year... issue with altera and their software that wouldn't run due to lisence issues on anything other then a windows nt 3.5 system. I chased down the issue

"Last year"? Why were you still using NT 3.5 in 2003? It may be difficult to get support, but in my experience the vendor tools are never so bad that you need an OS from 10 yrs ago, be it Atera, Xilinx, Synopys, MG, whatever...
