gEDA-user: Issue with build on RedHat 7.2

[ I have never seen this error either.  It is caused by giving libtool 
  via the --rpath flag a relative path.  How are you building gEDA/gaf?
  Are you giving ./configure any parameters (other than --prefix)? 
  Could you post the complete lines which lead up to this error? Thanks.

I searched through the archives but found no mention of this type of error.   Anybody
got any ideas.
