Hi George

I do a lot of boards using iron, and of course PCB.
I convert the .ps files from pcb to .sk wich is the native sketch (now named
skencil) program. Sketch is a vector based editor. To convert it, I use
pstoedit -f sk file.ps file.sk
In sketch, I can mirror when I need, place some legends that could be usefull,
and sometimes I do some editing in the layers. Like, its a good way to draw a
nice logo to place over the board, using TrueType fonts, for example.
Then, I save the draw as a PostScript file, and the print result from the
files from sketch do not have the problems that we see when printing directly
the output from PCB.

Hope I have helped!
