I'm not entirely sure.

If you have an example you can send me (which I'd treat confidentially),
I will investigate.

Just a FYI.. I've been playing with some complex 8 layer designs I got
from another PCB user, and I got a 200+ second load time down to 3
seconds now ;)

I added some more polygons on the unfinished layers, found a case which
pushed load time up to 50 seconds (lots of touching via clearances), so
futher profiling + patching, and the load time is now down to ~10
seconds for that more complex board).

Long story short.. send slow examples, and they might well get profiled
and used to help optimise PCB's speed for that kind of case.
