Re: Re: gEDA-user: gEDA install not detecting GTK+ on Fedora 6

To install gEDA from source you need gtk2 and gtk2-devel packages. The first one contains all runtime files and the second one contains header and config files needed to develop other software. Both should be in Fedora repository (or updates).
This rule applies also for other libraries as guile.

Then I switched to using the native 'make' inthe install location (so i didn't have to go through the wholeprocess again). > Hi All, I recently downloaded the 20061020 ISO for gEDA and am attemptingto install it. The first problem I had was that I couldnot get the enclosed GTK+ to compile. Apparently, accordingto the GTK folks, it won't compile properly on Fedora 6. Okay, so I downloaded GTK+ 2.10.7 and it compiled right off. I set up the recommended env variables before running make, but when I 'make install' gEDA, it fails: ...checking for GTK24... noconfigure: error: Cannot find gtk+ 2.4.x or later, please installgtk+ Yet, I just built (and installed) 2.10.7. Can anyone tell mehow the gEDA make process detects gtk+? What does it look forto make that determination? Thanks in Advance!Corey.
